There are many recipe sites out there but none of them include all of the features we wanted, so we made our own!
Features:
- Just the recipe, no back-story
- Generic ingredients
- Full search for recipes and foods by keyword
- Fully dynamic servings adjustment
- Fully integrated nutrition information (with basic RDA comparisons). Unlike most sites, we list ALL available nutrients we can find - not just the usual calories/fat/carbs/protein. Selenium anyone?
- Fully integrated cost information (with detailed computation break-down)
- Week and day meal planners (with available average daily nutrition data)
- You may choose to only see foods and recipes that are considered "ultrahealthy" (option is available in the settings)
- Only show meals whose ingredients you have on hand (coming soon!)
- Handy conversions tooltips (coming soon!)
- Prep time (coming soon)
What this site will not do:
- We will not list the ingredients first followed by the steps. This has always annoyed us as we have to keep switching back-and-forth. All recipes will list the ingredients within each step.
- We will not tell you to rinse your vegetables, you should always do this
- We try to use generics whenever possible (e.g. "bell pepper" rather than "red pepper". Sometimes we will be specific like with "whole wheat multigrain bread" since the nutrition information is distinct. Feel free to use whatever you want - If you feel the bread type or pepper color is important, then by all means switch!
- Recipe step 1 will never tell you to gather the ingredients - you should do this already
- We will rarely tell you what size pot to use - after you have gathered your ingredients this should be obvious
- We do not provide pictures. These rarely match what you made, so just enjoy what you have when you finish!
